Papertrey Ink April 2017 Blog Hop

Good morning all!

I've been a bit absent in the Papertrey Ink community lately but found a bit of time to play along this month in their April Blog hop.

Here is the lovely photo Nichole has chosen for inspiration this month.

I went with a clean and simple design featuring the Cutaway Tags spring stamp set and a sentiment from Botanical Blocks. Black Nuvo drops were added to the centers of the flowers.

Thanks for dropping by and enjoy your day!

ATSM Challenge # 238 - Holiday

Hello and welcome!

This week we would like to see Holiday cards.

For this challenge I chose to make a Christmas card. I kept my card clean and simple by die cutting  a sheet of patterned paper from the Home for the Holidays paper pack by Gina K. Designs and adding a heat embossed sentiment from the set On Ice by PTI.

Come and play along. We would love to see your take on the challenge!

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 Gina K Designs gift certificate! To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

First up I have a couple of cards featuring Vicky Mermaid by Beth Silaika. For the top one I did some reverse masking with various GKD inks and then stamped a sea plant. The seahorse was stamped on watercolor paper and colored in with distress markers. I fussy cut him out and adhered him to the front. I find that it's easier to cut images from water color paper than regular card stock. Its thicker, sturdier and doesn't bend as easily when cutting around intricate areas.

After randomly stamping various images I water colored the background and left the images untouched. I lightly sprayed the front with shimmer mist and added sequins. The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum and stapled to the front.

I only had time to make one card featuring Claire Brennan's set Cottage Garden. After stamping and masking the fence image I lightly sponged the background with Wild Dandelion, Peach Bellini and Blue Lagoon GKD inks. I added Kraft towards the bottom. The bird and sign were fussy cut out and adhered to the card.

My last card features images from April's mini incentive stamp set Botanical Blocks free with a separate $75.00 purchase. A very quick and easy one layer card. I love the sentiment on this one.

To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop. Ready for some inspiration? Here are a few of the projects I have created for today’s hop:

First up, I have a couple of cards featuring Melanie Muenchingers beautiful new set Stately Flowers 11. The top card was water colored with Peerless Water Colors. The bottom card was masked and sponged with GKD inks. I sprayed shimmer mist to the card front for a bit of sparkle.

Next up I have two cards using images from Theresa Momber's Daisy Delight.

I immediately fell in love with this huge daisy and couldn't wait to start water coloring it. I also water colored the ladybug and fussy cut it when it was dry. Before I adhered it to my card I stamped it where I wanted to place it on the flower. That way I didn't have to draw in the legs.

For my last card I created a CAS one-layer sympathy card. I did some masking and sponged peach bellini GKD ink to form a wide strip across my card front towards the top. Before I removed the masking I stamped my image and sentiment. Flowers were colored with Zig water color brush pens.
